Persian blue salt is extracted by hand from Iranian salt mines, which are among the oldest in the world. The shimmering bluish colour was created millions of years ago by the shifting of the earth's plates: The high pressure changed the crystal lattice so that the light from the salt crystals is refracted differently. This creates the unique blue shimmer.
The blue grains of salt are a real eye-catcher on any plate.
