Redoxon contains pure vitamin C (ascorbic acid) as the active ingredient. Vitamin C intervenes in a number of vital metabolic processes via various mechanisms.

It is used to treat and prevent vitamin C deficiency states such as scurvy and its precursors. The vitamin C requirement may be increased and/or supplementation may be necessary in the following diseases:

• Bleeding gums due to vitamin C deficiency;
• Wound healing, for example after tooth extraction;
• Operations;
• Infectious diseases;
• Colds;
• Resorption disorders after surgical removal of the stomach (gastrectomy) or after gastrointestinal diseases;
• Smokers;
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding;
• Treatment with antibiotics;
• during blood washing (haemodialysis).
