Nicotine is released for approx. 30 minutes when the lozenge is used. Nicotine is the addictive component in tobacco smoke and is responsible for the various withdrawal symptoms that occur during smoking cessation. By administering nicotine with Nicotinell, these withdrawal symptoms are reduced and smokers find it easier to give up cigarette nicotine.
