SWEETENER : XYLITOL, KAUMASSE, AROMA, ACIDITY REGULATOR : MALIC ACID, CITRIC ACID, COLOURING CALCIUM CARBONATE, THICKENER : GUM ARABIC, HUMECTANT : GLYCERINE, EMULSIFIER : LECITHIN (SUNFLOWER), GLAZING AGENT : CARNAUBA WAX.
Properties
Xylitol forms complexes of calcium and saliva proteins in the oral cavity, which lead to remineralisation of the dental hard tissue. With sufficient xylitol intake, no new plaque forms on the teeth. This prevents the development of caries and dissolves and removes existing plaque. Xylitol produces a cooling effect on the tongue, similar to the refreshing flavour of menthol. Xylitol cannot be utilised by the bacteria in the oral cavity, so it has no caries-causing effect.
Warnings
May have a laxative effect if consumed in excess.á
