ManuRhizoLoc gives the wrist and thumb a secure hold thanks to the integrated and anatomically pre-shaped aluminium rods. If immobilisation of the joints is the main focus at the beginning of therapy, it is important to train the muscles gradually for long-term regeneration. A Velcro strap on the thumb can be used to loosen the restraint provided by the support and allow a controlled release of movement in the metacarpophalangeal joint of the thumb. As soon as sufficient mobility is restored, the thumb support can be removed completely. This makes gripping movements with all fingers possible again, the hand is further stabilised and the risk of secondary injuries is reduced.
